Braeside Community Association, We Do Great Things Together

by Irena Karshenbaum | [email protected]

We hope you are staying safe during these unprecedented times and have found peace in beautiful, tree-lined Braeside.

Even though our building has been closed since the middle of March, we have been working very hard behind the scenes to renovate the Upper Hall and upgrade the hockey rink. We are excited to reveal the final product to the community and believe you will find these upgrades to be wonderful improvements. Our community centre will be a beautiful place for your many events, be it your wedding, a family reunion, a birthday celebration, a baby shower, or some fabulous party you’re eager to have because it’s been too long.

Braeside Community Centre is the perfect place, especially during these times, because we have our very large Upper Hall, which allows for plenty of physical distancing.

We are working to reopen around September 1st, but please check our Facebook page for updates.

We are thrilled that a number of groups will be providing important programs starting in September.

The Foundation Baptist Church will continue to hold its services. We are excited that ACKU Karate will be expanding their classes to Tuesday nights, in addition to the classes they will hold on Thursday nights. We are thrilled to welcome Essentrics® Stretch and Strengthen on Monday and Wednesday evenings and are happy that Scarlet Brush Studious will be teaching art classes to kids and teens on Friday nights. For complete details, please check out the BCA programs listing in this issue, be in touch with our office or visit our Facebook page.

We look forward to welcoming more programs to Braeside Community Centre in the coming months.

A huge thanks goes out to our dedicated and hardworking Braeside Community Association board of directors who have worked so hard to not only get us through this difficult time but create a beautiful living room for our community.

We do have to wear masks these days, but this shouldn’t stop us from coming together, and doing great things, as a community.

We look forward to seeing you here soon!

Irena Karshenbaum is the Community Coordinator for Braeside Community Association.
