Soap for Hope’s purpose is to changes lives by providing hope and dignity though hygiene.
Soap for Hope Alberta achieves its goal by collecting gently used or unused soap, hygiene products, and linens from the hotel industry and public donations that would otherwise be discarded. Our volunteers reprocess these items to redistribute to those in need. In doing so, the program is not only diverting hundreds of thousands of plastic bottles from landfills but fulfilling a local and international need for hygiene products and linens and helping people stay healthy and dignified.
Last year’s impact report showed 17,144 volunteer hours and 1,047,238 hygiene products delivered. 50,518 lbs. of linens were distributed, 254,930 bars of soap handed out, and 91,537lbs. was redirected from the landfills. This involved 82 hotels and 370 community facilities.
