Read and discuss Ragged Company by Richard Wagamese. Goodreads defines Ragged Company as “a journey into the future and the past,” as it explores the nature of four friends as they redefine their ideas of ‘home,’ as he reconnects them to the histories that brought them together.
Garden Talk Series
February 25, March 4, 11, 18, 25, April 1, 15, 22, and 29
Let’s talk gardening! The Cedarbrae community centre is proud to offer nine sessions that will offer information on various gardening topics and techniques to prepare you for the summer ahead. Whether you are new to gardening, or an experienced gardener, these classes are bound to teach you a thing or two as Deborah VanDeventer shares her tips and tricks for gardening in our Calgary climate.
These Saturday sessions are scheduled for February 25, March 4, 11, 18, 25, April 1, 15, 22, and 29. The cost to register for this series (nine Garden Talks total) is $45 for Cedarbrae Community League Association members and $55 for non-members. Please note, there are no refunds for absences. Class sizes are limited, so register today by emailing [email protected].
Garden Talk #1: Garden Jump Start
Saturday, February 25, 1:30 to 3:00 pm
Wanting to save some money by starting your own seedlings and plants for summer? Cold frames, milk jug planting, and indoor seed starting will be discussed at this Garden Talk Session. Seed preparation techniques will be also covered! As a bonus, registrants can participate in a seed exchange and possibly take home something new to grow in this year’s garden.

Winter Festival
Family Day – Monday, February 20 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm
Join us for some free winter fun featuring outdoor and indoor activities for the whole family! Rentals for ice skates and snowshoes will be available for the day, stay warm with some free hot chocolate and popcorn! The concession will also be selling hotdogs, chips, pop, and juice. Indoor crafts and games will also be offered. We look forward to seeing you all there!
Spring Drop and Go Bottle Drive
Saturday, April 15 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
Come to the community centre parking lot, pop the trunk, and let us take care of the rest! Proceeds collected go towards the Cedarbrae community centre for future events and programs.
