Happy February!
As I write this in mid-January, we would have just had our February ice skating event with the legendary Harvey the Hound! It is so great to have a new social director on board, and we have some exciting events coming up. Suzanne Brown did a great job planning the ice skating event, and we can’t wait to explore more events in the upcoming months. Also, a reminder that any community member is encouraged to also host events. Please contact us if you would like to plan anything for the community and we can work together to make it happen.
A couple of side notes this month. Firstly, I have had some concerned community members reach out to me in regards to off-leash dogs in our CKE parks. I just wanted to write a friendly reminder. Do you know that all CKE parks and green spaces are classified by the city as on leash areas? Thank you for leashing your dog in these areas. The nearest off-leash area that I am aware of is in Haysboro, bordering 14 Street.
If you are looking for more information on the Heritage LAP, we are doing our best to publish meeting dates and correspondence with the City on our social media and website. Please refer to those platforms for any recent information. In addition, any relevant information can be accessed through the City’s website at https://engage.calgary.ca/heritage.
We are taking registrations for 2023 CKE memberships. The CKE Community Association is proud to offer an amazing community centre, programs, activities, services, and hall facilities for both community members and neighbouring residents. Also, a reminder that our CKE community hall is a fabulous place to host events! It can accommodate corporate events, birthday parties, weddings, anniversaries, social events, and more!
