This is our fourth growing season, and we are thrilled with the community interest. All our raised beds have now been rented out. If you want to stay connected with our activities, please join us as a Level 1 member. Please register at https://www.oakridgecommunity.ca/ and you can participate in our fun and informative activities, including visits to private local gardens.

Save The Dates: Our OCG Near Term ‘Events’ Are:

• Thursday, May 4 at 7:00 pm and Saturday, May 6 at noon. Membership get together, volunteer task assignment, and ice cream.

• OCG Plant Exchange and Sale on Saturday, May 27 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, same weekend as OMO is doing their pickup. Rose Bouffard will talk on Native Alberta Plants. Rose will also have seeds available while they last.

• OCG Open Garden on July 29 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Joan Williams will present, and visitors will be welcome.

We have started many seedlings indoors to try and get a start on our ‘amazing climate’. We hope the snow, ice, and water will have gone by early May when some early plants will be planted. There is such diversity of edibles from many countries that we can try to grow and share with our families and friends. Have you started to plan for your gardening in 2023? It’s never too late! Come join our fun-loving, nature focused, ‘green’ volunteers, both novices and experienced gardeners – we are all interested in learning more.

Our perennial garden and food forest is filling out and the recent addition of a wooden canoe to reflect our ‘Weaselhead’ theme should enable gardeners and local residents to reflect on nature, smell the ‘roses’, and watch the blooming flowers and busy pollinators. Everyone is invited!

Please use our free little library so others can enjoy the books you have read or drop by and visit our notice board and website for more info on the OCG.
