Hello McKenzie Lake Residents!
Next month is September, the beginning of autumn! This month has warmth, depth, colour, and glows like amber.
We also welcome back McKenzie Scouts 210, Kyokushin Karate, the Navy League of Canada, Little Kickers, McKenzie United Soccer Club, and Summit Church.
McKenzie Frenzie! On September 9, for the whole family – complete with food, a petting zoo, face painting, and carnival activities! Once again, we will host a beer garden (inside the rink) with live entertainment. Come one, come all!
Preschool: September will be a busy month with everything starting up again! Preschool fosters curiosity, promotes skills, a sense of competence, social and emotional development, and it is fun! Welcome to all the new Preschool children who will be attending, as well as those who are returning for another great year!
After School Programs: These allow children to connect in a new setting and offer a break from usual cliques. Because of the varied activities that are planned, it is a fun and meaningful way to be with others in areas they enjoy. These programs promote cooperation, support, and respect:
• BAS Grades 1 to 5: Our program (currently full) is fun and informative, with a variety of activities both indoors and outdoors!
• Kindy BAS – We are all excited to be offering this new program (currently full) and are looking forward to meeting the children. Miss Daniella is the director of this program.
Pickleball: The drop-in fee is $5 and takes place from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. We supply all the equipment, just come out and play! Please try to bring the exact amount if paying in cash. Start date is September 11.
McKenzie Tots will continue on Thursdays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the gymnasium ($5 drop-in fee per family). Come out and join other parents and children for visiting, coffee/tea, and play. We supply toys and a bouncy house! If paying in cash, please try to bring the exact amount. Start date is September 7.
Community Family Memberships are available for families that live in and outside of McKenzie Lake. For $25 (plus GST) you will not only be supporting the community, but you will also receive discounts on rentals and some programs. Purchase your family’s membership today on our website! Memberships are valid from August 1 to July 31.
The office will be closed September 2.
