Ho! Ho! Ho! And mistletoe!

It’s that very festive time of year and Girl Guide chocolaty mint cookies are perfect for the season! There are units still selling cookies so keep an eye out at local retail locations for our yummy mint cookies.

November was a busy time for all our units with enrolments, cookie selling and Remembrance Day activities. In December all our units will be busy celebrating the festive season and wishing everyone ‘Peace on Earth”.

SPARK units went to the library, learned about their heritage, had a visit from the Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society, and will be having holiday parties and making “Socks of Hope” for the homeless.

BROWNIE units are camping, learning basic first aid, visiting the fire hall and will be singing for seniors and celebrating the season with winter parties.

GUIDE units volunteered with crafts at a community Halloween event, wrote letters to our Veterans, are working on different service projects providing supplies and materials for organizations and people in need in our community.

PATHFINDER & RANGER units volunteered by organizing games at a community Halloween Dance, were busy gift wrapping for the Cerebral Palsy Association, attended Calgary Area Ranger camp, held a bottle drive and they will be crafting with a seasonal flare.

Guiding is a great place to grow lasting friendships and experience new opportunities. Why not give us a try! Registration is ongoing, and January is a great time of year to join a unit and have some fun.
