About the Region: Franz Haas Winery is located in the Alto Adige (Ah-D.J.), a German-speaking region at the base of northeastern Italy’s rugged Dolomite Mountains.

About the Maker: A sixth generation Franz Haas leads the winemaking team, whilst Franz the 7th interns, preparing for succession.

About the Estate: Maintaining smaller vineyards at altitudes to 800 metres, involves specific consideration for microclimate, soil type and grape varietal.

About Sustainability: With generational commitments to the Alto Adige, the Haas family uses minimal and selective interventions in their operations.

About the Label: As stunning labels grace each of their wines, Franz Haas offers a modern, consumer focus to packaging. Label artist Riccardo Schweizer painted with Pablo Picasso and Marc Chagal.

Shunning traditional cork closures, the winery has committed to a future with screw caps.

About the Name: ‘Manna’ holds no reference to the Torah’s Book of Exodus, instead, an honour bestowed upon company president Maria-Luisa Manna.

About the Making: A blend of four white grapes, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc; each grown, harvested and fermented separately (former-two in stainless, latter-two in wood), based on attributes delivered to the final blend.

About Tasting: A lovely light golden colour, aromas of rose petals, ripe pears and apricots tantalize. On the palate, refreshingly acidic, medium-bodied highlights of nuts and golden fruits enhance the long, mineral-tinged finish.

About Pairing: Conceptualized as a versatile food wine, Manna is suitable for myriad sampling dishes. A wine to pair with the many!
