Show Your Support for the Troops
Support Our Troops licence plate gives Albertans another way to show your appreciation for Canada’s brave service men and women. 
You can order the licence plate at any registry across the province. The Veterans Food Bank in Calgary is a very critical service that has been supporting veterans and their families. I encourage you to visit any Legion to drop off your food donations.
Apprenticeship Programs
Government is assisting young Albertans in apprenticeships, skilled trades and vocational education. Our plan to restore jobs means growing apprenticeship opportunities and building the skills of our students, from high school through their apprenticeships and into rewarding careers. Qualified high school graduates in either the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) or Career and Technology Studies (CTS) apprenticeship pathway will receive a $1,000 scholarship. In addition, qualified graduates that have completed both a RAP and a CTS pathway will receive a $2,000 Bright Future, High School Apprenticeship Scholarship.
Alberta Energy
The Government has launched its public inquiry into the foreign sources of funds behind the anti-Alberta energy campaign. The public launch of the Commissioner’s website AlbertaInquiry.ca marks an important milestone in the first phase of the independent inquiry. We encourage you to participate in the process and visit the website to share relevant information. The Commissioner will submit a final report to Government by July 2, 2020.
Alberta Looks to Private Examiners to Streamline Road Tests
I want to thank my constituents for their input regarding wait times for driving exams. Your advocacy has resulted in our Government taking immediate action. Alberta Transportation is seeking applications from individuals outside the government to provide road tests alongside the current government-run system. More than 150 government driver examiners have been hired and trained. The province is looking to licence about 20 external examiners to address the wait times. The newly licensed examiners will not be government employees and will work in areas where demand is highest, such as Edmonton and Calgary.
