A May Message from the SCA President

Strange times – every morning when I wake up, it feels like a movie and then reality sets in. The SCA CA building has been shut down for weeks; all programs and events cancelled. The SCA’s faithful staff has done a deep clean and remains at their posts to keep the building safe and to address the concerns of residents and tenants.

It has been a very tough few weeks. May will be another quiet month, staying at home as much as possible, social distancing; hopefully the weather will cooperate and we will be able to get into our gardens and enjoy fresh air and sunshine – see the hope in the arrival of tulips.

It has been a time for reflection and appreciation. Appreciation for enough to eat and our local grocer implementing measures to keep us safer (thank you, Sobeys), new appreciation for books and card games, more frequent calls with friends and family. This pandemic has distilled things down to the essential, and we begin to have a new appreciation for and recognition of what is really important.

We update our website regularly and you can find links to some online programming that the SCA offers and up to the minute COVID-19 information.

There is not much else I can say. Stay safe, stay home and stay positive. This too shall pass, and we will be together again soon.

Maureen Smith

SCA President
