At long last it is starting to feel like spring is upon us! May is a big month for spring cleaning around Calgary. Here are a few of the programs that you will see in your communities over the next number of weeks.
Street Sweeping
The 2018 street sweeping program commenced on April 16 and will run until the middle of June. During the street sweeping program crews will be out seven days on residential streets and four nights a week on major routes. Watch for signs in your community that indicate when your street is scheduled for clean up. Parking bans will be in place when signs are present. Vehicles and bins must be removed from the road on posted dates and times. For more details visit www.calgary.ca/sweep.
Community Clean Ups
Each year The City of Calgary teams up with local community associations to help Calgarians declutter after a long winter. In 2017, one million kilograms of waste and 200,000 kilograms of organic materials were collected. You can find the full community clean up schedule at www.calgary.ca/cleanup.
