144 Avenue NW Improvements – Project Update
Crews have begun installation of retaining and noise walls adjacent to nearby homes. Underground stormwater deep utility installations will also take place at the east end of the project area, by the community of Evanston.
Road grading to prepare for the future 144 Avenue extension will be completed to the east of the Symons Valley Road and 144 Avenue NW intersection; no traffic impacts are anticipated as part of this work.
Through summer and fall 2023, priorities will include:
• Various roadworks to build the 144 Avenue NW extension, adjacent to Evanston.
• Widening and traffic light installation at the Symons Valley Road and 144 Avenue NW intersection.
• Begin bridge construction over West Nose Creek.
Substantial completion of the 144 Avenue improvements project is scheduled for fall 2024.
Neighbour Day 2023 – Permit Application Deadline is May 28
To help you celebrate the 10th annual Neighbour Day on June 17, The City of Calgary is providing resources and support for residents to organize activities with neighbours, including waiving the fees for block party and greenspace permits. The permit application deadline is May 28. You can also request a visit from myself as your area Councillor, a police officer, or a fire truck. Visit Calgary.ca/NeighbourDay to learn more.
