Hello, Ward 6!

What We’ve Done

On February 20th, Council approved the West Springs Area Structure Plan amendment to accommodate the West District development. While the majority of the community is in favour of moving development forward, there remains a serious transportation infrastructure deficit that affects all of Ward 6. I highlighted this need at Council and will work with my colleagues to see improvements to our road network in the area.

At the end of April, the Ward 6 Office will be completing a tour with the General Manager of Transportation and the Director of Roads to highlight and address the traffic and safety issues our communities face.

What We’re Doing

Pedestrian safety is a top concern for the Ward 6 Office. We’ve received many concerned emails and phone calls regarding pedestrian safety around schools. Our Office has met with Constables from the Calgary Police Service and we will be working with Council to find a city-wide solution to this issue.

What We’ll Do

Save the date! On May 3rd, from 6:30-9:00 PM I will be hosting our first Ward 6 Open House at the Strathcona Community Association Hall (277 Strathcona Drive SW). Ward 6 Office Staff and I will be on hand to address any questions or concerns that you may have. Other attendees include representatives from Calgary Transportation, Parks, Neighbourhoods, and the Calgary Police Service. We look forward to seeing you!
