Happy New Year!

It was a busy month for my office, but we were very happy to take a brief break to be with our families for the Christmas season and we are excited to get back to work for all of you.

I recently met with the Crowfoot Hockey Association to present them with a cheque that will go to upgrading the lights in the arena and to buy a new snow-melter. These upgrades will save the arena thousands of dollars each year and I’m proud to be able to support our community through these types of government grants.

Just a couple months ago I stood with the Premier as she announced that Amazon would be opening a new fulfillment centre beside CrossIron Mills. This fulfillment centre will create more than 800 jobs for Calgarians once it is completed.

I’ve also had the opportunity to visit the site of what will be the brand-new Calgary Cancer Centre. Work for this project is well underway and ahead of schedule. This 1.4-billion-dollar investment will bring 160 inpatient beds, more than 100 chemotherapy chairs, research laboratories, as well as an additional 1,650 new parking stalls. On top of that, by the time it opens, this Cancer Centre will add 1,500 jobs to Calgary’s economy.

If you need help with any provincial government services or have concerns about any issues you can get in touch with our office by contacting me and my team at 403-216-5444 or [email protected].
