The Spring Sitting of the Legislature opened last March with the Speech from the Throne, which highlighted our commitment to get a pipeline to tidewater built by whatever means necessary. Albertans fuel the economic strength of this great country, we won’t let BC’s attack on Canadian workers stand. The Speech from the Throne also highlighted some of our objectives for this session: increasing investments in entrepreneurship through investor tax credits, diversifying the economy by expanding value-added processing of Alberta’s natural resources, ensuring Alberta has a reliable electricity grid that protects customers from drastic price swings, and protecting students by extending the post-secondary tuition freeze in addition to capping tuition increases. While there is still a way to go, our province is on the road to economic recovery thanks to our commitment in investing in Albertans during the recent economic downturn.
