The weather has cooled down considerably in our city and people are back into the swing of school and work and activities after what I hope was an enjoyable summer. Thanks to everyone who stopped by my tent at Sandstock in August to grab a piece of cake or a pen or have their picture taken at our “photo booth”. Kudos to the Sandstone Macewan Community Association for hosting this great family event again this year and a shout out to the board members and volunteers who make sure it’s a fun day. There was a great turn out and the smoke even cleared a little bit.

Quite a few people stopped by the Tim Horton’s in Beddington in August where I hosted “Coffee with the MLA”. Constituents came to talk about PDD and how we can make our community stronger. Watch for more of these soon.

Did you celebrate Pride? I attended the Camp Fyrefly Pride Brunch which raises money to send LGBTQ+ kids to camp every yearit was inspiring to see how kids are able to connect with people who understand what they’re going through and help through what is often a tough time. Pride has grown enormously since I first started attending and it’s been a real eye opener to learn how to be a better ally and I’m very proud to be part of a political party that values all people, including the LGBTQ+ community. And Pride is always so much fun!

I’m still working on a Private Member Bill to help get people back to work. I know many affected by the downturn in the Energy Industry either haven’t gone back to work or have had to take jobs that don’t utilize their skills. If you have a story or perspective to share, please contact me at the details below:
