Originating from the vision of real estate promoter Albert Smyth, this area was marketed as a prime investment opportunity, highlighting its picturesque parks, serene lake, charming windmills, racetrack, and lush gardens.
However, the community faced a pivotal turn in 1912 when real estate sales began to stagnate. Smyth and his partner devised an innovative plan to allure residents, laying railway ties to neighbouring towns and sparking rumours of an impending streetcar development. Eventually exposed, Smyth and his partner faced repercussions, leading to their departure and the railway ties repurposed as firewood.
Despite this setback, Albert Park flourished, and Radisson Heights emerged shortly after the 1960 annexation of Albert Park. Presently, Albert Park/Radisson Heights stands as a thriving community boasting ample green spaces and convenient access to shopping hubs and major highways. With breathtaking vistas of the Bow River Valley, downtown skyline, and majestic mountains, this area offers residents a picturesque and well-connected living experience.
