Hello Crescent Heights,

There may not be any snow on the ground by the time you read this newsletter – you just may be in a spring state of mind.

Your board is talking community and river cleanup events, setting up beekeeping near our hall, a fun running race through our neighbourhood, and of course, dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s on our Stampede Breakfast.

We’re supporting adding some structure to identifying, monitoring, reporting, and reducing crime in Crescent Heights. Details to follow. We’re also evaluating adding some more programs at the hall for our members.

On the ongoing, more complex projects, we can thank our Parks Director, Humaira Palibroda and Treasurer, John McDermid for their dedicated, unrelenting focus on ensuring that all City paperwork, grant applications, and other procedures are followed to complete their objectives. For John, this will mean a new HVAC system for our hall by year end, keeping us current on our Hall Life Cycle Plan. For Humaira, this means steadily moving towards getting our doggy fountain installed in Rotary Park as soon as possible. For Humaira, it also means a slight change of plans for our new skating rink. With the City on board now, we should have a high-quality rink sometime in 2024 for Tim Edwards and our top-notch rink crew. For these large projects to succeed, much adaptation and flexibility has been demanded of Humaira and John. Keep your fingers crossed for them to be completed on time and within budget.
