October 2nd, 2018 and Calgary has just been deluged with the heaviest October snowfall in recorded history!
Our Community Snow Shovelling Program does not begin until November 1st!
What to do?
Our leaders Joni and Cathy began by contacting student shovellers in the hope that some of them might be able to help. The response was exactly what we expected and by evening all of the seniors had mounds of heavy, wet snow cleared from their walks. Thank you to all.
Our program is intergenerational with students, parents, seniors and our leaders all working together in a co-operative manner. Highwood residents should feel very privileged to have this program as numerous calls came in from seniors in other communities who needed help. We only service Highwood residents.
