April showers bring May flowers! Yes, soon it will be time to put out our flower beds, gardens, and raking the leaves and lawn if you haven’t done so already. HH-BH is always a beautiful community when the floral is in bloom. The HH-BH rock at 14th Ave / 19th Street is looking for a floral caretaker; please let the Community Centre know at [email protected] if you’re interested.
The Community Association is anxiously waiting for the green light from the Province to fully reopen the community centre and offer programs to our patrons. When we do, we will continue to enforce the face covering, hand sanitizing, and social distancing protocols for your safety and ours.
On May 5, City Council’s Standing Policy Committee on Planning and Urban Development will be hosting the return of the Guidebook for Great Communities with a ‘What We Heard Report’ arising from the March 22 to 24 Council public hearings, possible amendments, and indication whether this will remain a statutory document. HH-BH is VERY actively involved with dozens of other communities and individuals to forward amendments which we believe better serves communities, neighbourhoods and property owners through greater community input if not role in decision-making. Please contact for more details and how you can be part of the constructive influence.
In anticipation of some form of community event through the summer, our festivals and event team are working through some ideas and plans. If you wish to be part of the team, please let the Community Association know at [email protected].
Finally, the dogs love this time of the year. Be safe at the dog park as coyotes are known to be roaming the community; a long rope leash is practical. Around the neighbourhood, please respect private property by picking up your dog’s droppings and ensuring that they are not raking up the grass and flower beds with their paws.
