The outdoor soccer program is mid-way through the season and all the kids are having a great time as they learn and practice their soccer skills. I would like to thank Darcy Cumming for stepping up to the plate and volunteering to coordinate this soccer program. It has again been a different season, not as many pandemic restrictions, but the registration numbers for the U 11 to U 18 age groups were very low, and we have had to partner with other community associations who are facing the same enrollment challenges to offer viable soccer teams for these older age groups. I would also like to thank all the parents and volunteers who have made this season possible. Without you, we could not offer this program – thank you!
The community association is planning to host a Summer Solstice Block Party on June 18 and a Stampede Breakfast on July 16. Please be sure to watch for more information about these upcoming community events. Both will be held in Green Park. Be sure to mark your calendars!
As with any community event, we rely on volunteers to make it a success! If you can volunteer to help with either event, please call the office at 403-282-6634.
The gym has had a very steady year for rentals with many sports groups holding their weekly practices and tournaments here. We have a number of summer camps booked for July/August and our fall/winter calendar is starting to fill up quickly.
We are still working with the City of Calgary to replace the HVAC system in the building and are awaiting word on whether we will be approved for the project or not.
We are here to support the residents of our community and if you have any thoughts or ideas about events or programs you would like the community association to offer, please let us know.
Happy June!
