Hello Kincora!
Our 6th Annual Winter Festival is coming again! Please mark your calendars for February 11, 2024, 1:00 to 4:00 pm! Let’s together have some awesome winter fun!
Come enjoy sleigh rides, music, skating, and refreshments at the Kincora fields. This is another free event for anyone in the City of Calgary brought to you by your very own Kincora Community Association paid for by your $20 membership. Don’t forget to renew your membership if you haven’t done so already.
• We will have two horse-drawn sleigh rides going through the Kincora fields.
• The KCA will have the Skate Shack onsite for free skate and helmet rentals.
• Firepits will be going.
• Light refreshments such as hot chocolate will be provided onsite.
We want you to bring your friends and family of all ages and enjoy all the outdoors that Kincora has to offer! Of course, this event is subject to change if weather turns for the worse. Please be on the lookout on the Kincora.org website and the Facebook page for updates. Provided we can get volunteers, we are hoping to keep the Skate Shack open on the evenings and nights of February 9, 10, and 11. If you would like to volunteer, please write to me at my email address. You can also just volunteer on the day of the event. We always need help setting up and taking down before and after the event and helping people out with skates and refreshments during the event itself.
On a side note, we do have firewood available for sale at $10 per bundle for use at our fire pits. All proceeds go right back to the KCA. The firepits are for public use and you can head out and use them anytime you like. Please just ensure you only burn wood. Contact me to purchase wood.
There is more to be done at the board. We are still looking for someone who can prepare the newsletter content every month. The communications director position is still open. If you or anyone you know is interested in putting together content for a great newsletter, please direct them to me or to anyone on the board. If this is not your idea of serving on the board, but something else is, again, feel free to join our KCA meetings and decide for yourself. As always, we meet on the first Monday of every month at the Symons Valley Church (if the first Monday happens to be a holiday, we meet the following Monday).
