Thanks to all the Bowness Road residents and businesses who took the time during the last month to talk with our volunteer canvassing team. These conversations are part of the valuable and important feedback that our Community Association needs to hear to determine whether we move forward on renaming our portion of Bowness Road.
Residents (both owners and tenants) and businesses along Bowness Road have more impacts to consider than other community members regarding this potential name change. Our team focused solely on this group since they would bear the costs and inconvenience of going through an address change. Valuable opinions were collected from a large majority, and these opinions varied greatly.
Some residents thought it would be a great opportunity for businesses to create a media presence around the Main Streets construction and the potential name change; some thought it would lessen the confusion regarding wayfinding, some thought it would help strengthen Montgomery’s ties to history and create a strong identity for the community. and some thought the name shouldn’t be changed at all.
As we explore this idea, we’ll keep you updated.
