Gingersnap Cookies

by Charity McInnes

If you’re still in a festive spirit past this new year, this recipe has been around our block and the neighbours can testify to its irresistible goodness. Try it out and share it with your loved ones.

Ingredients

3/4 cup margarine

2 tsp. baking soda

1 cup white sugar

¼ cup light molasses

1 egg

2 cups flour

¼ tsp salt

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp cloves

1 tsp ginger

Instructions

1. Grease cookie sheets. Preheat oven to 350°F.

2. Mix margarine and sugar together. Then add the egg and molasses.

3. Next mix in the flour, salt, baking soda and spices. (If the dough is a bit sticky add a bit more flour or refrigerate for a bit).

4. Roll the dough into balls and then dip them into sugar and place onto cookie sheets.

5. Bake for eight to ten minutes. This recipe is so simple and easy to double.

Make sure not to change any of the ingredients though as it does not taste nearly so yummy!
