Hoping everyone is staying safe and healthy during this time of change. We are excited to see the Government of Alberta reopening plans and the announcement that community centres are included in Phase 2 of relaunch starting on June 12, 2020. We want to clarify that Riverbend Community Centre continues to be closed.
The Board of Directors is working on plans to reopen as of Sept 1.

Changes in Our Community
Despite slowdowns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic Riverbend has been booming with activity. We have been busy completing a number of renovations at the community centre during the closure. We previously shared that Riverbend got many new trees. The new bike pathway project was completed in July. And both Riverbend School and Holy Angels School are getting new playgrounds!
Programs and Events
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, all RCA indoor and outdoor programs have been cancelled. With Phase 2 reopening we expect to be slowly resuming some of the activities while following safety guidelines and protocols. Calgary Young People’s Theatre is offering day camps in August at the community centre with reduced participant numbers. See most up to date details on our website: www.riverbendcommunity.ca.
