Evergreen’s Message from the Board for June

Evergreen cn

Welcome to summer!

Have plans to travel this summer? Stay safe and take all precautions for wherever you are going. Don’t forget the sunscreen!

Community Cleanup

You are probably wondering if there will be a community clean up this month. The answer is that it has moved to September 9 for this year and will once again be at the LDS Church on Everstone Blvd and James Mckevitt. Let your neighbours know!

Membership

Membership is only $20 per year and is good for one immediate family per household. The membership supports our operations, events, future amenity planning, and the rink. With the membership there are also discounts at many local businesses.

You can always join CECA or renew your membership at www.myceca.ca/membership.

You can also fill out and mail in the membership form found in the newsletter.

Board Vacancies

We would like to welcome Bulbul Odedra and Vivian Damitan who have joined the board!

Bulbul will be the Events Director and Vivian the Membership Director. The Events Director cannot do it all herself and is looking for Evergreen residents to step forward to volunteer at each event, and a few to take on Lead Volunteer roles to make sure everything runs smoothly. For more information, please email [email protected]. We are still looking for volunteers to join our Events Committee, made up of people who are willing to help make things happen for the community!

We still need a Rink Director, Seniors Program Director, and IT Manager. Contact us for details and information about these positions.

Evergreen Gardening Contest

This year we are having a new event, the Evergreen Gardening Contest. June is the last month to register. Visit www.myceca.ca/gardening for more information and to register. The contest is sponsored by Calgary Horticultural Society, Spruce It Up Garden Centre, and Greengate Garden Centre.

Parade of Neighbour Day Block Parties?

Saturday, June 17 is Neighbour Day! Did you know that if you wish to hold a block party to celebrate Neighbour Day, you can get street permits for free? Visit www.calgary.ca/neighbourday for more info.

If you are hosting a party and would like to be posted on our Parade of Neighbour Day Block Parties Map, email us with the location at [email protected].

Get out and say hi to your neighbour!
