Happy December Glenbrook,
With Christmas and the holiday season just around the corner, I would like to take this moment to wish you and your family all the best during the holidays.
The Glenbrook Community Association has decided to participate in a City of Calgary program called Ready Calgary. Ready Calgary is a community preparedness program developed by the Calgary Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) for the citizens of Calgary. It has been designed to inform, educate and build resiliency to the impacts of emergencies. The course encourages safety at home, in the workplace, and in your neighbourhood and community. By becoming a community leader, you will help empower a resilient network of prepared citizens.
We are currently having Glenbrook residents take the required courses, and will be offering workshops to Glenbrook residents in March and April 2019. If you are interested, you can learn more by going to the City of Calgary’s website at www.calgary.ca and searching for Ready Calgary. There is a quick online free course for you to start on and then plan on attending on of our workshops in the spring.
Lastly, I hope to see you at one of our skating parties planned for this winter. More details can be found inside this newsletter.
All the best,
Murray Ost, President
Glenbrook Community Association
