Glendale’s Note from the Editor for June

Glendale cn

Hello Neighbours,

The third Saturday in June is always Neighbour Day in Calgary. This is a great opportunity to get out and meet those who live nearby. The City of Calgary offers many great resources and ideas to plan your own Neighbour Day event. Maybe it’s an afternoon tea or BBQ that you host for the people in your crescent, or maybe you could set up a sidewalk chalk competition. A little effort to get out and meet others can go a long way. Visit www.calgary.ca/events/neighbour-day for some ideas and free resources.

June is also National Indigenous History Month in Canada, a time to recognize the rich history, heritage, resilience, and diversity of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across our country. To learn more about some of the events that are happening in Calgary to celebrate National Indigenous History Month, visit https://bbbscalgary.ca/indigenous-events-for-june-in-calgary/.

I hope we all get to enjoy some good weather this month while celebrating our community connections and local Indigenous history.

Until next time,

Kendra Horosko
