Hello Kingsland,
Summer is finally here!
Thank you to everybody who came out to support our Food Truck Events at the Jack Carter site. The first event raised nearly $500 for the community.
And thank you to everybody who bought flowers. My yard is in full bloom, and the community raised almost $1,500, which will be put towards community events and programming for 2021.
Thank you to our amazing volunteers who spent a Sunday organizing and handing out many many plants! We are so grateful for all your time and effort.
We are pleased to be partnering with Bitter Sisters to organize a virtual beer tasting event. The date will be July 16. Tickets will be on sale until July 11 and include four beers and a charcuterie board (one ticket covers two people). Details for prices will be on the website and social media and shared via our community newsletter.
Our membership drive was also a success; thank you to all the volunteers who canvassed the neighbourhood, leaving information in mailboxes. We appreciate how many dedicated volunteers we have.
I’m also happy to share that we have a Communications committee leading the charge on modernizing our website, and this includes a community logo contest. During the month of June, many community members submitted their logo ideas, and we thank you for your creativity! Please keep your eyes peeled for details as we ask the public to vote on the new logo!
This summer, you can join the Disc (Frisbee) Golf sport for beginners’ league at the Kingsland Dry Pond. Details to be announced soon on the webpage.
Have a healthy, adventurous, and restful summer,
Amy Mireault
