I hope that all of you are having a wonderful summer with your family and friends. Kingsland Community Preschool is a Reggio Inspired preschool program that has been operating out of the Kingsland Community Association location since 2013. Before that, we operated out of St. Andrew’s Church and provided play-based programing for the children of Chinook Park, Kelvin Grove, Kingsland, Haysboro, and surrounding communities. Kingsland Preschool is a preschool built from the love, support, and energy of the families in these communities and has been the foundation for children’s learning for many years. It is at our preschool program that children have been empowered to follow their curiosity, creating lifelong, competent learners. Our program provides opportunities for children’s learning to be directed by them which is invaluable as it promotes independence and allows the children to be the experts of their own interests.
Preschool is often the first time that children spend consistent time away from their parents. Kingsland Preschool sets up an inviting environment for children to explore and create alongside their peers and their teacher. We provide volunteering opportunities for families to be involved and engaged in the learning experience and focus on building community and friendships that will continue to grow and strengthen as they move on to elementary school, and beyond.
We have spent the summer playing, exploring, and creating during our summer camps! We are looking forward to starting the new year in September. We have some spaces available in our Monday/Wednesday/Friday – four-year-old program. With new hours of 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. Government Affordability Grant and Subsidy Programs are available.
