Wow, what a wonderful fall! Walking is a pleasure; the autumn and fall colours are absolutely beautiful in and around the neighbourhood and the parks.

A huge thank you to the Federation of Calgary Communities – Exploring Communities “microgrant” funds that assisted KCA to purchase art to bring to life the CBE fence along 75 Ave at 5 Street SW. The art is vibrant and colorful with mosaic art pieces with the theme of “Play” and “Calgary”.

Most of the art was designed by the Fine Art students from St. Augustine Jr. High and with assistance of a local Art Director who arranged small connecting motifs to enhance the theme. A huge thank you to the students who were motivated to create art pieces to make our neighborhood more vibrant. I would like to thank all the passersby who welcomed the pixel art with positive comments and recognized the volunteers who worked on the project. KCA is in discussion with the City of Calgary, as we review options for the deck and hopefully to update the kitchen. Please check the website for board minutes and updates. The Auditors have completed the financial audit. Are you planning an event in the near future? KCA hall is opened for business.

I will close with a quote: “Life is not about having everything. It’s about finding meaning in everything.” – Joel Randymar
