With the pandemic, activity at the MLCA Hall has been lower this fall than is usual for this time of year. Nonetheless, we are making progress in restoring operations and in adjusting to “the new normal.”

We are delighted to be offering Barre Sculpt, Adult and Seniors Yoga, Idea Lab for ages 6 to 8 and 9 to 12, Seniors Fit, and Swim Club. We also started a new program, Axe Capoeira, a Brazilian martial arts and dance class for two age groups: 3 to 5 years and 6 to 12 years. Check out the MLCA website for full details and to register for all MLCA programs.

We are also seeing the return of some of our long-term renters. It is great to have them back!

The MLCA Annual General Meeting was held on Monday, October 19. We acknowledged the contribution of board members who completed their service and elected new board members. Thanks to Catherine Fraser (6 ½ years – Events, Volunteers, Stampede Breakfast), Lauren Makar (4 years – Secretary, Planning & Development), Craig Soppitt (2 years – Director at Large), Jennifer Bray Lewis (2 years – Indulge), Glenna Patton (2 years – Preschool) and Bob Alexander (2 years – Director at Large, Sports & Rec).

Please contact me if you are interested in getting involved as a volunteer, a committee member, or a board member. I always appreciate your comments and welcome your emails at [email protected].

Doug Fraser, President
