I would just like to highlight what has been happening/going on behind the scenes this past month, in no particular order:

  1. I reached out to both the City and Councillor Woolley with regards to the Richmond Green Golf Course space. I was concerned with the lack of upkeep on the property, and requested answers with regards to what is being done with the space. John Faber has indicated that they will make a better effort to maintain the space while decisions are being made. Councillor Woolley’s office has requested an update from Administration, and we have yet to hear back from them at this point in time.
  2. We have recently had an application for a small-scale woodworking manufacturing business in one of our residences (7 days per week operation). Just a reminder that the restrictive covenants on our lots prohibit business operations. Accordingly, the RPCA has responded that we did not support the application. There are a number of people working from home in our community with minimal impact. The intent of the covenant is to restrict the traffic and noise/disruption, which a commercial venture can create in a residential community. Thank you for being respectful of your neighbours.
  3. The Guidebook to Great Communities came before the Planning Committee and it is being referred to Council with the recommendation of further engagement and revision. I have followed up with the City indicating that further revisions are still necessary, and that communities and residents still need time for additional engagement.
