Happy Fall Southwood!

School has been in for a month and life seems to be getting back to what we previously considered normal.

At the beginning of September, the Southwood Community Hall began to welcome back more renters. It has been a slow climb to get back to full capacity, and we hope we can get back to regular operating standards in the new year. If you are interested in booking the hall for any needs, please ensure that you leave ample amount of time before your event as we are only allowing one renter per room per day. The board is also applying a temporary 15% cleaning fee to all rental fees for all users of the hall. This will ensure that we can keep up with properly disinfecting the hall and protecting our users.

With Halloween around the corner, it does not look like we will be holding the annual Halloween Howler this year. As we are only allowing a certain number of people in the hall, it would be difficult to manage and everyone over the age of 2 would need to wear a mask. With COVID we need to consider health and safety as our number one priority and given the number of people we typically have at this event we would not be able to achieve that.

In September, we held our first in person board meeting since February! It was so nice to see everyone’s eyes (would have been nice to see everyone’s smiles though!) With that, we will be holding our meetings in person unless we are directed otherwise. If you are interested, please join us on Thursday, October 22, at 7:00 pm at the community hall. As always, the meetings take place in the Chateau Room. If you are joining, please ensure you have a mask. We can provide a mask if you forget one.

Thanks everyone!
