A note from The Community Kitchen Program of Calgary:
“As you know the Good that Food Box Program has been obtaining and supplying the very best possible produce at the best possible prices. We will always be relentless in providing you with the best product we can, and we are focused in that effort. We are committed in serving you. However, in spite of our best efforts to keep the prices of the Good Food Boxes down, the price of fresh produce has continued to rise. This has been a problem since before COVID and the continuing cost for fresh produce has not gone down. We have until now, managed to refrain from raising the price of the Good Food Boxes while we have been continually absorbing the price increases since January 2016, that is over seven years of continually rising prices, sometime quite dramatically. However, we are now at a place in time where we cannot continue to absorb these price increases without a little help. So, we are going to implement a modest raise in price of the boxes of an additional $5 per box, this will mean the new boxes will be:
Small: $30
Medium: $35
Large: $40
Hopefully, this ensures that we can continue to serve you the best possible produce at the best possible price. Please note that these new prices will be going into effect on August 1, 2023.”
Next order deadline is August 14, 2023.
