On September 22, 2023, Hawkwood Community Park will be officially 20 months old. A mere baby in terms of community infrastructure, it has quickly become the community gathering space that we hoped it would be.
At only 20 months old, we are still working on building a strong foundation for the park so it can be used and enjoyed by the community for many years to come. Work includes resolving construction deficiencies with our contractor (Wilco), creating maintenance checklists for each element in the park, and looking at making changes to areas of the park that could work better based on how we see the park being used.
We are already gearing up for our winter season, which of course involves our community rink. Our rink is maintained by a great team of community volunteers.
