  1. What were your favorite books of 2019? (Note: most of these weren’t published in 2019, I just read them in 2019)
  • Rachael Hollis – Girl, Stop Apologizing
  • Bernard Cornwell – The Last Kingdom Series
  • Charles Duhigg – Smarter Faster Better
  • Pierce Brown – Red Rising Series
  • Angela Liddon – Oh She Glows Everyday (Cookbook)
  1. How often do your books get circulated and how do you keep your inventory of books current?

There is typically movement of books every day. When we first installed the library, more books were taken then left, but now that people know about the library, we notice new books in it every few days. We purchase books from thrift or secondhand stores to restock the library when the supply is getting low.

  1. What are the most popular genres that are in your library?

Children’s books and cookbooks fly off the shelves.

  1. Do you have any memorable stories about your library that you’d like to share?

Every time we are working in the front yard, we have people stop to ask questions or comment about it, inquire about where we got it, or to thank us for installing the library.

  1. When did you first create the free little library and why did you create it?

A few years back we walked by a little library (it was a city in the US, but I don’t remember where) and I fell in love with the idea. I noticed how people would stop and look at the books and others would stop and talk about the books they liked. It slowed people down and had become a known hub in that community. From that day I knew I wanted one, however they are difficult to find, as you need to order them from the US. Last year, my husband bought me one for Christmas and I was delighted. Of course, we had to wait until summer to install it and it has been a success ever since. The library was purchased from and is registered at https://littlefreelibrary.org/.
