Sunnyside Crime Activity was Up in January 2024

Sunnyside Calgary experienced 9 crimes in January 2024, in comparison to 4 crimes the previous month, and 16 crimes in January one year ago. The Sunnyside community has an average of 9.3 crimes per month. On an annual basis, Sunnyside had a total of 112 crimes as of January 2024, which is down 41% in comparison to 189 crimes as of January 2023. Total Sunnyside community crimes is calculated as the sum of break & enters (dwelling, commercial, and other premises), theft from vehicles, theft of vehicles, assaults (nondomestic), commercial robberies, street robberies, and non-domestic ‘other’ violence.

Sunnyside Calgary had 3 break and enter (B&E) crimes in January, in comparison to 0 B&E crimes in December and 5 B&E crimes in January 2023. On an annual basis, Sunnyside had a total of 28 B&E crimes as of January 2024, which is down from 52 B&E crimes as of January 2023.

Sunnyside had 4 vehicle related crimes (theft of or theft from vehicles) in January 2024, in comparison to 1 vehicle related crime in the previous month, and 11 vehicle related crimes in January 2023. On an annual basis, Sunnyside had a total of 48 vehicle related crimes as of January 2024, which is down in comparison to 96 vehicle related crimes as of January 2023.
